• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

I won, with five minutes to spare! :D (and I am never going to make the mistake of procrastinating so much ever again) Mine is only 80 pages, but I used Tab rather than double spacing (is that what it's called?). Last year's was 100 pages, though. I think this is a good representation of how...

No, the problem is my boring parents not letting me stay up to finish it. I just got 1000 done in an hour, though, so I still have some hope. And if I do get to at least 49k or so I'm sure they'll let me stay up to squeeze out the last bit. Panic mostly over, but I still have to keep worrying...

Less than three hours for me to write over 3000 words. This horrible horrible horrible and I won't make it.

Okay. Uh. Yeah. Panic time, I guess. I have over 13000 words to do in two days, which wouldn't seem such an impossible task earlier, but I am being totally stalled by constant lack-of-ideas, and I am absolutely refusing to turn my spellchecker off because I at least like to have my writing...

I just hit 30,000 and I overcame a writer's block, or at least pushed it back a bit with a nice plot twist, so I think that as long as I keep some momentum going I might make this. 13,000 in four days isn't too bad, especially not when the last two days of the month are a weekend (= SPRINT)...

I have to write 3444 words a day to hit 50,000 by the end of the month. ... I can do this. I have to. >_<

Okay, this is embarrassing. All day at school I'm thinking "I will spend all of tonight writing", but when I get home I am insta-distracted and start asking myself whether I should just give up and spend more time with these various distractions that sound far more interesting. Anyway, I guess...

The latest email was so discouraging. I've been wondering whether just to give up, seeing as I have officially written less than half of what I should have written by now, and along comes this email saying "so yeah guys let's all be at 30,000 by the end of Wednesday! we can do this :D!" and for...

I don't think I'm going to make it. I've just been so distracted with everything, even when not thinking about homework, and somehow I went from being a good 4000 or so in front to being 6000 behind, and still I let myself sit at home doing nothing for about three and a half hours before even...

or by yourself. That said, I am falling badly behind, with both this and homework. I just cannot be bothered at the moment. :( edit: Wrote a grand total of 0 words this whole weekend. I suck.

Mine is surprisingly uneventful so far. I mean, they raided an abandoned shrine and somebody got killed in an explosion, but...

Finally at 10,000, but coursework is going to smack me in the back of the head very soon unless I try to get even further in front. So far, I have overused every word I know and made some of the ugliest sentences imaginable, but I've at least managed to squeeze in the occasional 'good paragraph'...

Don't be deceived, though, because it's always easy at the start. currently at 3,666 words and finding it hard to concentrate. I'm also out later on today and busy a lot next weekend, so this is going to be hard for me, especially with probable coursework.

Midnight start... hmm. Crazy ideas I am thinking of now. I was planning to sleep on it so I could come up with an idea for a beginning that isn't, you know, really stupid, but... midnight start could be just what I need. :O edit: I'm not allowed because I have boring parents

That's the coolest sounding character in my opinion, but why the ugly name?

    NaNoWriMo 2008

That's pretty cool, but would it be valid for the one I'm doing this year? Last year's was pretty mediocre. :/ I suppose they wouldn't be able to tell. On the other hand, that publishing stuff looks incredibly complicated; I might not bother trying.

My horrible, horrible brain isn't letting my drop this terrible plot idea I've had since early September, so I'm guess I'm just gonna have to admit defeat and develop it and see where I go with it. Expecting to fail.
